Halloween Cocktails

Halloween Cocktails

This year I am planning a fancy Halloween party at our place. After showing you the cupcakes I am going to serve I also wanted to share some fancy cocktail recipes. I still can't decide which one of those I am going to serve because they all taste and look fantastic.

As cider is a drink almost everyone likes I wanted to incorporate it into this round up. I never knew that cider and vodka are such a great combination. Due to the fact that cider is quite sweet, I wanted black sanding sugar to decorate the rim, but I could not find it anywhere. In the end I used poppyseeds instead and they also worked quite well.

Recipe

  • Fine black sanding sugar/poppyseeds
  • 1 apple, chopped
  • 1/2 lime, cut into wedges
  • 1 oz apple cider
  • 2 oz vodka
  • Ice
  • 1 thin apple slice, for garnish

Put all the ingredients into a cocktail mixer and shake well. Pour it into a cocktail glass.

I also wanted to incorporate a really creepy looking drink into my list of favorite Halloween cocktails and that's why the Bloody Scary needed to be in there. I love how the blood orange juice and the black vodka slowly blend in - really creepy!

Recipe

  • 4 oz prosecco
  • 1 oz blood orange juice
  • 1/2 oz aperol/campari
  • 1 oz black vodka

In a champagne flut, combine prosecco, blood orange juice, aperol or campari. Pour black vodka over the back of a cocktail spoon to create a layer of black. Serve immediately.

The Eyeball Martini is not directly a cocktail because it only contains martini. But as the decoration is so cool I'm definitely going to serve this one at my party. The only thing you have to do here is to scrape off most of the red skin from the radishes. This gives the radishes a veined appearance. Then use a knife to cut out a small hole and insert an olive half in each radish. Put one or two eyeballs in each cocktail glass and the Eyeball Martini is ready to serve!
